  • Whitey · 1 year ago
Yeah -- Good for you! But what DOES this mean for the comic???
  • benjiroo · 1 year ago
i have a feeling that when i find another job, i'll have two versions of my resignation letter. the first of course will be a 'g-rated' version so i can live through the following two weeks. the 'unrated director's cut' will probably be left in my own files, or i'll forward it to my previous employer a few months later.

    than again, maybe not.

best wishes on your new venture. i'll miss your cubicle.
  • Luis Daniel · 1 year ago
Good luck, Shane, in your coming out-the-cubicle! And, if you plan to work as freelancer <voice of emperor Palpatine> ...you will soon discover a new source of dark humour and bizarre situations, my friend... <end of sinister voice>

Wow this is seriously ironic. I've been a reader for awhile and have enjoyed the similarities of your humorously depressing office job and my humorously depressing office job. However, today is my last day. I'm moving on to bigger, better, and slightly (ever so slightly...) less boring work as a technical illustrator. Congrats and good luck as a freelancer!
  • Dorkys · 1 year ago
    Congrats!!!/Oh Nooooo!

So happy you're moving on, but at the same time we'll miss your drawings!! I only hope you continue to draw about life as a freelancer.

Man, and here I thought maybe you were going on vacay in two weeks like me...
  • levhita · 1 year ago
    Bravo!!!!!!!

    And Good Luck.

I already took that path (and failed miserably, but that's why there are second chances) so I guess I'll still find myself related to your comic.
  • Brad · 1 year ago

Looking forward to comics about the uneven life of a freelancer.
  • Mike Dutton · 1 year ago
It's eerie how well I can relate to many of the moments in your strip based on my own "cubicle period" a few years ago, so I knew it was only a matter of time before I'd see the letter that basically says,"Thanks, but I'm done wasting my life here!"

    Congratulations, Shane. :)
  • Matt Armstrong · 1 year ago
Congrats man! Love reading the comic. Hope it doesn't end here though. Best of luck!
  • Scott Moore · 1 year ago

Good luck with your new line of work, Shane, whatever that freelance may entail! Maybe the comic will be renamed "My Life On A Construction Site", or "My Life As A Cartoonist"?
  • Elizabeth K · 1 year ago
Today was my last day at my job! I hope you are going to be doing freelance cartoon work. Good luck. I love your site.
  • T. Slod · 1 year ago
Funny... I didn't give my boss 2 weeks notice. I just left the company credit card, and the SIM card out of the company phone on my desk. I still need to drop the office keys off at some point though. I might've been more civil and professional if... well, if he had been! Good luck to you, though. I just found this comic a couple weeks ago, and I hope it continues in some form or another. Surf Wisely!
  • Daniel Howard · 1 year ago
    Congratulations and good luck!!

  • Emily S. S. · 1 year ago

That's quite a long resignation letter; quite a bit longer than any such letter I've written. Good luck.
